The Spirit of Hanukkah -it also has lessons for us ALL

Happy Hanukkah Friends,

"A little bit of light dispels a lot of darkness."
—Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi

Sundown this evening marks the beginning of Hanukkah. The Jewish Festival of Lights is another holiday that occurs during the darkest season of the year, honoring the miracle of ever-present light and divine support and interconnection.

I have shared more about the story of Hannukah, how we can all sit with these practices, and also how significant this is in particular this year.

"A candle is a small thing. But one candle can light another. And see how its own light increases, as a candle gives its flame to the other. You are such a light."
—Moshe Davis

I am wishing you all the happiest Hanukkah and to my Jewish friends, I am thinking of you, sending you light in these times of darkness, and praying for hope in the miracles.

I will of course be weaving the themes of Hanukkah into my December Interspiritual Solstice Services. We will honor the darkness, the longing and the return of the light.  Please join me for one of the Gatherings coming up in two weeks:
