Weddings are one of my favorite things in life. Yes, because I love to cut it up on a dance floor (especially to Journey), but also because I think wedding ceremonies are one of the most powerful opportunities for intention and connection. This moment is an invitation for you to grow as individuals and a couple, and to create a strong and sustainable relationship for your future.

I’m not your average wedding officiant and I don’t create boiler-plate weddings. I work with couples who care about having a custom, personalized and impactful wedding ceremony. Those who want their ceremony to really feel like THEM, who want to feel more connected to each other and their wedding guests, and who want to invest in their relationship.

Meet your Minister (Rev Dev)

I am not your traditional minister. I am a spiritual person who loves to support others. I feel it is my role to be an instrument of love and connection in the world. You can call me Devin, Rev. Devin or Rev Dev (whatever suits you). Here are some things you should know:

  • I am spiritual, but that doesn’t mean your ceremony needs to be. I work with you to understand who YOU are and what you want - this is your ceremony, not mine. 

  • I work with ALL couples. I welcome individuals and unions of any identities, labels (and non-labels), and relationship dynamics. If my belief that love is love is love and all people have the right to marry is a concern, then I am not your officiant. 

  • I’m intuitive. I pick up on things quickly. I can see the threads that run through your relationship, which helps me to support you but also to really highlight YOU in your ceremony.

  • I can roll with it. If something comes up, we make it work. I bring intentional sincerity and honor you as a couple, but also inject lightness and humor where appropriate. Your guests will feel connected to you and you will feel seen, heard and honored.

  • I’m deeply loving. I LOVE working with couples and we tend to go pretty deep in our work together. As a result, I typically end up having a lasting relationship with my clients. You’ll also likely get more than a couple hugs (if you want, of course).

Intuitive Relationship Coaching Sessions

A wedding isn’t just about celebration and commitments. It’s about your relationship.

As a long-time relationship coach, I help you to be more intentional and proactive about your relationship. Sessions are designed to give you a solid start to your marriage built on the strongest possible foundation for your lives moving forward.

What can you expect as a result?

  • You will better understand each other (your values, desires, needs, love languages, etc.). And you will understand your expectations of each other in your relationship. 

  • You will experience improved communication and be prepared for future challenges/conflicts that may arise.

  • You will have a clear image of the life you would like to create and your roles in creating that life. 

  • You will understand what intimacy means in your relationship and how to foster that intimacy. 

  • You will have a solid plan for the logistics of a marriage: finances, families, priorities, planning.

  • You will have not only the ceremony but also the wedding that fits who you are and what matters to you. The stresses of wedding planning will be quelled throughout the process as you will feel aligned as a couple in what matters.

Wedding Packages

Connect & Create

This package includes:

  • Customized Couples Connection Discovery Questionnaire.

  • (1) Discovery Session (90 minutes) to discuss your relationship, ceremony and all its components. 

  • Guidance on personalized ceremony elements: rituals, readings, music, etc.

  • Fully customized and personalized ceremony that really reflects the couple, their journey and their commitments, including a customized wedding address if desired – a statement by Devin about commitment and partially addressing your journeys as individuals and a couple. 

  • Communicate with planner around ceremony outline and any other on-site ceremony-relevant partners (A/V, venue, etc.)

  • Lead the rehearsal (in collaboration with planner)(only if wedding is local to Portland).

  • Officiate wedding with reverence, warmth, humor, intention and connection.

  • File marriage certificate. 

Investment: $1500 split into multiple payments

Connect & Commit

This package includes everything included in the Connect & Create package PLUS:

  • (3) Intuitive Relationship Coaching Sessions (90 minutes each) to dive deeper into anything and everything that is going on for you as a couple as you navigate the transition to marriage. Sessions also allow us to really customize a unique ceremony that is in alignment with who you are.

  • Support to craft your own vows, relationship agreements and other custom elements, utilizing Google docs for collaborative editing and commenting throughout the process.

  • (1) Pre-Wedding Session (90 minutes) two weeks prior to finalize ceremony details. 

  • Lead the rehearsal (in collaboration with planner) no matter where it is located.

  • Available day of wedding via phone to support couple in being grounded in their intentions and the sacredness of the day. Arrive 1 hour prior to ceremony to secure all details and also check in for a moment with each individual for whatever they need (a grounding meditation, a few breaths, a reminder of what is important, a hug, a pep talk, a laugh, etc.)

  • Decorative Marriage License (not legal)

  • (1) Post-Wedding Session (60 minutes) a month after the wedding to integrate wedding and ceremony.

Investment: $2400 split into multiple payments

Connect & Expand

This package includes everything included in the above Connect, Create & Commit package PLUS:

  • A total of (6) Intuitive Relationship Coaching Sessions (90 minutes each) to dive deeper into anything and everything that is going on for you as a couple throughout your transition, including (if chosen) proactively addressing pre-marital topics such as family, money, intimacy, communication, expectations.

  • (1) Relationship Reflection Session (90 minutes) one year after your wedding to reflect on the year, revisit your commitments and set intentions for moving forward.

Investment: $3300 split into multiple payments

Wow-Worthy Wedding Speeches

I work with you to craft a heartfelt, authentic, entertaining and memorable speech that is all you. This is for you if you plan to speak or give a toast as a couple, or if you are the best man, maid of honor, member of the wedding party, a parent, relative or close friend. $675 Package includes:

  • Customized Speech Discovery Questionnaire with Writing Prompts

  • 90-minute Session to discuss your intentions, goals, ideas and create an outline

  • Email support as you roughly shape a draft of your 3-5 minute speech

  • Final 90-minute Session to edit and massage your speech, and discuss delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I think so, but it’s completely up to you. I am an ordained Interfaith/Interspiritual minister. I am open to supporting individuals and couples of all faith backgrounds and bring different spiritual traditions and teachings into my work. What it means for YOU in your ceremony is that I will honor who you are, what you believe and what feels important for you to include in your ceremony (spiritual or not). I do not bring any traditionally religious concepts or language into a ceremony unless it is requested and aligned for your ceremony.

    I also don’t talk like the ministers of your past. I am a contemporary version of a minister which means I show up genuinely as myself, I just happen to be an ordained minister.

  • There is a lot that goes into designing and creating a personalized, heartfelt and unique wedding ceremony that is truly YOURS. Working with me as an officiant is about having a really wonderful wedding ceremony, but more so, it is about investing in your relationship and your future. Our work together will lead to you having a more intentional, healthy and sustainable relationship, especially the packages that include Intuitive Relationship Coaching.

    As a previous planner/coordinator, I know how expensive weddings are and that most couples spend the most on venues, food & beverage, music and photographers. Those are important elements to a wedding, but I believe there is also incredible value in prioritizing the investment in your ceremony and the honoring the transition, the relationship and the commitments you’re making. Investing in your relationship and ceremony will pay off for the rest of your life.

  • I work anywhere and everywhere. I typically work in the New England area, but I do travel when desired by the couple. In those cases, all travel costs and additional time fees are in addition to service fees.

    Any venue that is more than 15 miles from downtown Portland incurs a $0.70/mile roundtrip fee. And any wedding more than 80 miles away requires additional travel costs for overnight room & board for at least one night (possibly two depending on the time of the rehearsal and ceremony and location of the wedding).

  • I do work with couples who are eloping and offer the same packages because no matter how many guests you have, your ceremony will be uniquely yours and the process to get there will shape your relationship moving forward. In fact, I find that many couples that choose elopements do so because they want their ceremony and commitments to be the only focus. If that is the case for you, we are an even better fit! :)

  • If you have a specific sentimental reason that you want a certain loved one to officiate your ceremony, I may consider supporting you as a consultant/co-creator and coach for your ceremony. If I do help in this fashion, I work collaboratively with the couple and the chosen officiant as well as working directly with the officiant to coach them around their role and important steps in the process. If you are interested in this service, get in touch and we can determine if it is a good fit.

  • I typically stay for the cocktail hour and then depart prior to your dinner (or relevant timing). Should you want me to stay longer, please let me know, but that is not my standard practice.

  • As much as you want!! When I work with couples, the process is co-creative. I provide guidance but we collaborate completely on the design of the ceremony. And what we are all involved in is up to us. Some couples want to edit and contribute to each element of the ceremony, and some want a few to be a surprise. It is completely up to you.
